Concerns about purchasing GM Diesel Truck

I would be concerned about purchasing a GM truck as well. They do ride nice thouugh

My 2007 Duramax is driven daily during the week and tows my RV on the weekends.
It has 287K on the Odometer. My goal is 300K
A diesel with 150K still has lots of life in it.

As with any vehicle previous owner up keep is the key.
Find a well cared for truck and you'll be fine.
GM trucks have outstanding resale value.
My '07 lbz with 84k on it is worth as much now then when I purchased it in 2010 with 44k.

My 08 with 166k miles, I bought at 40k miles. I had the 4wd actuator go out about 5 years ago. Other than that, only maintenance and all of it has been since I paid it off. About 125k miles to now I did the brakes, new shocks, 1 glow plug, new tires (last set lasted 80k miles), and service trailer brake relay. For making it run better, I also did a tuner, exhaust, cold air intake, and air bags. Runs great and no issues.

Key is which truck it is, how it was cared for, if the particular pitfalls of it have been fixed (most have 1 or 2 things that need attention for long life) and how many of the "normal" repairs have already been done for a given mileage.
I'd rather see a 150kmile truck with a laundry list of necessary new parts recently replaced than one that says "150k, never touched it ". That, to me, means going to need more brake, suspension, drivetrain and /or accessories parts in the near future.

Thanks for all the great responses. I called the local chevy dealer and they told me they would do a bumper to bumper inspection for $250.00 and I have been dealing with this dealer for about 26 years so I feel they will what is right and I trust them. Now to find that special truck, Again thanks for all the valuable comments. Ed

It was a joke that I couldn't resist being the way this thread is titled.

Avoid the LLY Duramax 2004.5-2005, some had over heating issues. As stated the 2006 and Classic early 2007's are the gold standard of the early ones with a 6th gear added to the Allison 1000.

Goes right along with not wanting a 6.0 or 6.4 Ford, another 47RE/48RE RAM tranny, 6.7 RAM until 2013+, or a LLY Duramax.
