Concern with my 6.4 Ford diesel.

On my way home from south Texas, currently in Ruidoso NM. While in Texas, I noticed my 6.4 diesel has started to puke coolant from the fill resivoir. I'm towing a 16k 5th wheel. I thought maybe the radiator cap needed replacing, so I picked one up at a local Ford garage. While talking with a service person, he said that if it keeps puking coolant he would suggest I have it diagnosed at a Ford garage. He said there may be other issues going on that could damage the motor. Needless to say, that did not make my day. I'm currently around 400 miles from home and my local Ford garage. So far, no warning lights and all gauges showing normal. Any suggestions on what might be going on? Would I be at a huge risk if I continued all the way home? After towing 130 miles today, I noticed it's still puking coolant after I installed a new cap.

    are you looking at the oil level too ,,, ps how many miles on your truck...

    Oil level is good. I had oil changed just before I left. I've got 109,000 miles on the truck. I've always had all required maintenance done on the truck.

    The only place I see any evidence of puking is at the coolant filler cap?

    There is a simple test of the coolant a dealer can do to verify head gasket problems.

    While your waiting have you been looking at the new Ford trucks?
    At 109k miles you might start to think about it. I would venture to say most don't make it that far without needing some tender loving care. Those early ( 08-10) years before DEF engines were pretty rough for the manufactures.

    Is there any smoke out the exhaust? Are you running any kind of tune on it? Do you have a monitor/tuner that you use to monitor vitals like EGT's and other temps? Can you read codes and are there any?

    If you took it in to a dealer, they should be able to run a contribution code check on it and see if all your cylinders are healthy. Most obvious answer is head gaskets like stated above, but it could be something else like EGR coolers. Get ready to open your wallet.
