I actually looked at both the Scamp and the Casita, the problem with each is there are no dealers anywhere near me and therefore, none selling near me. They're a rare siting in the Northeast. Even if I travelled to get one and bring it back here, if I had any problem there is no dealer support and perhaps a major hurdle in getting it repaired.
I don't travel through mountains. We don't have them in Southern NH and I travel from here to the Seacoast and then up the coastline to campgrounds near the beaches in Maine. Kids and wife love the beach and I love the camping part of it.
Years ago when I bought my truck, it was purpose purchased. Stuff around the house, yardwork, hunting, towing my small boat. I have daughters and back then, if their hands got dirty they cried. I never expected them to like camping, all be it, campground camping.
