They usually have cassette toilets. There's a sealed container that sits below the toilet seat. When you flush, it opens the entrance valve and flushes the "stuff" and water down. The user experience is pretty much the same.
When it's time to dump, you do have to remove this container from an outside access. Then the container has an exit pipe that you uncap and dump the contents into the sewer drain or even into a toilet (which many consider an advantage). It's really no worse than dumping with hoses, other than the size means you may need to do it more often.
