In my mind, this is a better way to look at all this, rather than just going by GVWR.
For instance, my little 19' Funfinder was stated dry weight of 3040. Actual scaled as I sit in it right now here in Colorado, packed for a month long trip: 4100. It's GVWR is 6000, likely due to the fact it has tandem axles, each rated for 2800 pounds.
For this thread, all of which is rather a moot point... I think the OP has left the house. It seems he came here simply looking to reinforce what he already believed: "I can't do this trailering thing with the truck I have."
I don't advocate trying to do things that are unsafe ( too little truck for the trailer ), however, here on good 'ol rvnet, this is the home of the weight police/you-need-a-one-ton-dually crowd. Nuff said.
