Personally, I do my research on the internet, but prefer to deal I person.  Whether it's an x deal or any other "special" the sales person needs to treat everyone the same, regardless of how much they make on an individual sale.  That one customer may end up ending many additional people to the salesman or dealership.  Why risk your long-term success for a single low commission sale?  You knew there were going to be variable commissions when you went into the sales field.  I'd look for another dealer.  There are many who are interested in your business.
