Original poster back again...
I sent the same email to the only other dealer within a hundred miles. This time all I received was an automated reply. No one seems very interested in selling me a truck. I think I've decided to take Biscuit's suggestion and use the time on July 4 to explore the dealer lot while they are closed and do a little window shopping. Then on Saturday, my wife and I will stop by and see if we can test drive a couple of the trucks when the dealer is open. Apparently as an X-Plan purchaser I'm only supposed to go through the fleet manager, but since he doesn't work on the weekend we will try our luck with whoever is there.
I already know most of the technical details of the truck and the options I want. The only thing I'm uncertain of is whether to get the F150 XLT with cloth seats or the Lariat with leather seats. I've heard that leather can be really hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so I'm leaning toward the cloth seats. Other than wanting to sit in the truck and compare the seats of the 2014 model, I'm ready to order a 2015 as soon as Ford will let me.
