Ya it does. can you imagine what the coolant temp would be if you held 5K.

I think what you are missing the diesel makes max power at 2500 rpms and can run there all day.
A 6.2 or Eco require 5500 RPMs to make max power. Do you feel you can hold that rpm for even an hour?
The diesel and gas engines were designed for different jobs.
Who on this forum uses max power all day? If you do you're going to be terribly slow on any hill since level and downhills are already taking max power...unless you drive uphill all day?
An engine need only be able to deliver sufficient power for the task at hand. Climbing a hill doesn't take all day.
