Consumer Reviews & Ratings - Should I take them seriously?
I'm curious about something. I try to be an educated consumer by reading consumer reviews of anything I'm thinking about buying that's of significant cost. On the topic of RV's, the reviews I read online on a large variety of RV manufacturers are pretty interesting. Most are written by people who have had a bad experience with service and perceived quality who are angry and prone to over-exaggerate. People don't typically report their good experiences. This makes it difficult for people like me to get an accurate understanding of whether a product is good or bad.
So, what percentage of negative reviews are actually fair and something I should take seriously? How many people are having 'quality' issues with their rig because they don't take proper care of them? I mean, you can't stick an unprotected RV out in a field somewhere for a few years and expect it not to spring a leak somewhere. And if you do, don't complain that your service department can't fit you in immediately.
Anyway, there's no way to answer these rhetorical questions. I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion. :-)
