Converter location on a Sunset Creek

So, moved to Michigan and was surprised (amazed, dumbfounded, astonished)at the expense of insurance (twice the price of Colorado) here on the motorhome & tow'd, so we sold them and went back to a TT. Got a screaming deal on a pre owned 2006 Sunnybrook Sunset Creek. Fantastic trailer and a great setup inside. My only problem is,,,,,,, where did they hide the power converter? Found the AC circuit breaker panel, found the 12V fuse box with the shutoff but just can't seem to find the converter. It's an Intellipower 9100 series according to the paperwork. And, it's probably staring me right in the face and I feel kinda stupid for not seeing it but........

Enjoy your Sunset Creek. The one we had was our favorite TT. Dumb mistake trading it. Had named it Cheeseburger Express as from a distance the side graphic looked like a burger not a sunset. LOL.

So, outside looking at the trailer and had to laugh. It does look like a hamburger from a distance...

And, there it was. Only problem was that it appears that the previous owner "modified" the surround in the lower cabinet and completely enclosed it. Hmmmm. My first clue was that the wood paneling and weird framework didn't match anything around it. Anyway, opened the box back up allowing for ventilation/air circulation and accessibility to it. Thanks for everyones help in this. I appreciate it, my camper appreciates it and my converter appreciates the chance to breath again!

  • In my previous 3 Sunnybrooks, including a 2005 Solantra, it was under the jack knife couch near the fridge.
  • You might also ask www.myrvtalk.com where Sunny Brook owners lurk. Our is in a panel under the sink behind a false front or is it under the oven? The rig is in the shop so I can't check. It is helpful if the Converter has the Smart card installed that keeps the batteries from overcharging. I had to add one in the field.

This is what the Intellipower 9100 series Converter/Charger chassis looks like.. Most of the time they are installed in the bottom compartment below the Power Distribution Panel where the 120VAC Circuit breakers and 12VDC fuses are located... These are usually located under the OVEN or the FRIDGE close to the floor. These are stand alone units and can be installed almost anywhere. If they are larger current models alot of folks like to have them as close to the battery bank as they can get them... All they need to have to operate is 120VAC input and the DC OUTPUT connects to 12VDC Power Distribution Panel which is also feed by the battery...
