not going to a tech to repair out dated technology. I have a smart charger that im going to mount and call it a day for now. the plan only keeps that camper for a few more years then onto a bit bigger and a bunch newer.

Do you have a meter? I'd suggest to see if the converter has 120V power to it. Then, measure for 13V power at the output.

I believe the circuit breaker is internal to the converter (on circuit board?) and is auto-resetting.

In any event, having a bench tech fix the Magnetek is still going to leave you with a charging device that is subpar and will probably cost nearly as much as a new converter. If you know what you're doing, you can replace just the charging section of the load center or replace the whole converter and load center.

beemerphile1, any idea where the breaker for this converter would be? should I pull the whole thing and try and see behind it?

I see no fuses though. any idea where to start looking to get convertor power? I know the battery was hooked up backwards when I got it. im assuming there should be a reverse polarity fuse somewhere.

side note. the 2 30amp reverse polarity fuses in the clicky are not in mine. mine looks like the original converter pics

Maybe you have a deck-mount converter . FWIW, my deck mount converter was in a rear storage bin. I have heard some have them under a bed, You can look at the 12V distribution panel with the cover off and see which 12V main cables go where. If you have a single pair of 12V cables and no termination block, wires traveling towards the battery location, you may not have a converter. If you see two pairs of larger 12V wires attached to lugs together, you most likely have a converter.

I would guess you have a converter. For mine, it was an option but that is in 1971.

Okay, you found the breakers and fuses. What is the brand and model number you find in that panel?
