We have a weber Smokey Joe but most times we just cook over the campfire. The replacement Weber grill grate (store in garbage bag) fits the ring of a truck rim that many CGs use. We also bought a tripod at Walmart for like $20 that actually fits back into it's box for easy storage. Sometime I swap out the grill grates to give me more room on the tripod.
you know how the campers put out their fire in that ring last night, don't you?

C'mon Bumpy, out of sight out of mind, ya know? Don't ask don't tell? :D But at least if the next user burns long enough to create coals, that should burn off the, um, impurities... right? ;) lol - BumpyroadExplorer

bumpy - rexlionExplorerI have a Weber Q, but it sits in the back porch of the house and I have never taken it camping... go figure. I guess I prefer charcoal when I'm camping. And the Weber gets pretty grimy, it isn't easy to keep clean IMO.
A friend really likes his Volcano grill. Round 20", collapses to 5" high for transport. Tri-fuel: will run on gas, burn charcoal, or burn wood. If you don't have any grill now, this could be useful. http://www.volcanogrills.com/collapsible-stovegrills/1279
I just ordered (should arrive Tuesday) a folding charcoal cooker called EcoQue. Stainless steel, 12" x 12", collapses to under 3" height for transport. It comes with a lid, and I also ordered a griddle top and some foil liners. This thing cooks a meal on just 9 charcoal briquettes. They make a 15" model also, but I can't see a need for that much cooktop space. Got mine here, it was the best price I could find: http://www.campsaver.com/ecoque-portable-grill - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerWeber baby q. Perfect size, comes apart for even more convenient storage, easy clean and it has cast iron grill.
I can pull into a rest area for lunch, grill a steak or burger, and be back on the road in under an hour with this grill. Try THAT with charcoal. After all, isn't RVing supposed to be about relaxing and not a bunch of chores? Do yourself the favor and get a gas grill like this and enjoy the free time of not dealing with charcoal, lighter fluid, matches, etc.. - exhaustipatedExplorer

x2. I also have the Coleman Road Trip Grill and use it a lot when we camp. It is very convenient and sets up quickly to use right away. - CAJWExplorerWe have a Camco Olympian 5500 Stainless grill that mounts to the rear bumper, plugs into the onboard propane system and is up and running in minutes. I've modified our AF996 storage to accommodate the grill in the carry bag so nothing has to be carried inside the camper. Runs warm (usually 400+), but does a good job of cooking tasty steaks!

- korbeExplorerWe have found that we prefer the taste that comes with using charcoal. And since we are normally not in a hurry while campin', the preparation is worth the wait.
