I have owned both types of siding. I find the fiberglass is way easier to keep clean. Mine is 35' long and with a sponge mop I can wash the whole thing in an hour.
The black streaks happen on any type skin. The streaks come from dirt washing off the roof. Keep the roof clean, eliminate the streaks. But the main thing, I believe, which one has the floor plan and amenities you want?
