- amandasgrammaExplorerWe don't go anywhere in Oregon in the winter until we check this......DAILY! TRIPCHECK
Click on the section you're going to be in, then on the little camera. You'll get a popup. The little circles (some all blue, some half blue, some white) tell you the conditions......same as the red verbiage on the right.
Drive safely - obgrahamExplorerI use the forecaster, but I rely more on the state-by-state highway camera sites. That gives me the real scoop. I just put all the states into my favorites list on my browser.
- 1stgenfarmboyExplorerI love road trip adventures.....ye-haaaaa....be safe
Intellicast weather active map is an awesome real time map of the world that is very interactive.
I use weather underground also for a 10 day forcast. - joe_b_Explorer IIThis time of year it may be difficult to get a "good" 10 day weather forecast, going coast to coast basically. I would just stay south as much as possible and try to get on the Internet to check the weather every day if possible. The Underground Weather is one of the best sites and Jeff Masters, the originator of the site is an excellent weather person. He is the number one guy I go to for weather info, especially during hurricane season down this way.
Sometimes to find the TC a guy really wants, is going to take a bit of traveling. The last time I was looking for another TC, to replace the one we sold, the nearest Arctic Fox TC dealer was in Delaware or in that part of the country. It is always great to be able to come up with a good reason to make a cross country trip and to pick up a new TC is up at the top. TC selections here in Florida or anywhere in the SE just isn't the best, due to so few of them, compared to other types of RVs.
Five to six days each way is doable but going to take some long days of driving. Have a great trip, one many of us are somewhat envious of you getting to make. - sleepyExplorerI'm just curious...
With the price of fuel can you save money by driving more than 6000 miles round trip to pick up your new camper?
At least you can sleep in the camper on the way back... where will you stay on the way out?
Have a good trip
sleepy - realterExplorerI think road conditions are available by dialing 511. They usually give the conditions for each highway, and also for the adjoining state. We found this to be quite accurate on a recent 1,500 mile trip out west.
