The RV covers are superior to a plastic tarp because they don't scratch the finish as much. The best protection, IMO, would be to shrink wrap it. Around here, it is all the rage for high $$$ boats and such. If you do cover tightly or shrink wrap, I'd allow for some ventilation or moisture control.
