CP4 bypass kit
Has Ford ever addressed the HPFP fail in later model (2012-2017) trucks? How common is the bypass kit-do lots of folks go this route?

That’s a good question.
Nobody really knows if any improvements have been made to the design but we do know that improvements have been made to the fuel filtration.
Some are even saying that since Cummins is now using the CP4.2 pump that improvements probably was made with no data to back it up.
