I buy a new truck every 1.5 to 2 years. I get discounts on most brands through my work. I usually get at or below invoice and wait for the best rebates before I buy. I have normally paid 9 to 13k off of sticker and went into the deal with no negative equity. I can usually trade in with a little in my pocket.
You have to realize that just like buying pretty much anything else new it is worth 20 to 30 % less than sticker when you left with it. So if it is a 2012 you will need to keep it al least another year and if you got a decent deal when you bought it you should be close to even on trade. If you paid near sticker, had negative equity, or had a high interest rate you might as well be ready to fork over some cash or be ready to lose on your trade.
