A balanced cable connections is very important in larger banks. Proper sizing and lengths is a large portion of AmpH loss in any system. Often negating the gains that one sweats over in other areas to maximize Watts from solar. Cutting corners in the cables/connectors, sizing/routing and protection is not where it needs to be done. Often one sees a great system displayed in this forum only to be negated by cables sized for a single car battery from Wal-Mart of NAPA, because it is already pre packaged. Early one noted going to a welding shop, which is a great supply source. Often they will cut and attach lugs for you. Taking some laundry rope and cutting them for the lengths is a great way of getting this done, Measure twice, Cut once, mistakes.
