So, as soon as I read this post, I went to the local Home Depot and bought a 1x4 board cut to 48" long and stuck it under the rubber pad at the rear of the bed. Then took off for a camping trip.
I did notice that the camper sat more evenly on the truck bed but I did not notice any improvement in correcting the proposing effect. I guess I could put the other half of the board at the front of the bed to see if that makes any difference, but I too am shutting down for the season.
