My "fix" for this was a piece of rubber 3/16" thick measuring 12"x48" placed crossways at each end, under my horse mats. It trued up the mats and using a long level showed only about 1/8" gap at mid way between the crowned point and the front or rear of the bed mat. With compression, I'm convinced that gap goes away when the camper is loaded. Road test over a known bumpy section, showed no perceptible reduction in porposing, but for $40, it makes me feel better. YMMV.
