A similar thread to this is running on the TT side and is getting equally, if not more, testy. My take is this, FWIW, whether you believe this infestation is real or not is unimportant. What is important is that enough scientists have determined it to be real amd enough trees have been lost to this "whatever". So, as campers, shouldn't we be leaders in helping to stop this? The CG where we saw the stumps of dozens of trees that had to come down and the others being treated at huge expense was enough to make believers. So we can spend $X for a great camper, buy expensive gas to get us to a CG we can enjoy, great food and a glass or two, but we can't/won't just pay a couple extra dollars for a bundle of firewood that is safe???? That just does not make good sense to me. So we have a choice.....either pay whatever the price for the safe firewood is, or buy something like duro-logs, or do without. The world will not stop if you don't have a great campfire every night. That seems simple. There are a lot of rules and regs that we don't like or agree with, but they're still the rules and regs. Some seem/are stupid to many, but having a huge forested area wiped out by insects being transported by someone too stingy or too stubborn to pay a couple of dollars extra is just plain wrong. Me, getting down off my soapbox.
