Cummins 5.9 serpentine belt & hoses

Stick it under the seat as a gethome spare. Chris

Definitely not going to throw it away, although I would hate to try and replace it without my son's help!

I am now on my 3rd belt for my 2005 with 101K miles. The 2nd belt went on at 10K miles when I added an exhaust brake in Nov 2007 and the 3rd went on at 93K when I had some other work done. The belt that went on in '07 looked new, so now it's a spare.

They are a PITA to change thou. Getting it in behind the tensioner is fun.

All of my hoses where replaced this last winter as well. Actually, all but one. The heater core supply still needs to be changed.

I just changed the lift pump on my 2004 Dodge. 5.9. I also ordered the belt but it did not look bad so left it on. Checked the brakes pads they were good too.

Hopefully you didn't put another engine mounted pump on?!

You should change the hoses and thermostat, along with the antifreeze. That is supposed to get changed at 5 years or 100,000 miles!

Really not that bad you just have to hold your tongue just right.;)

Agreed

Spend the money and get the T stat and o rings/gaskets from Cummins. They are expensive but worth it! They will need your engine number.

I changed the belt on my 94 just because. After 14 years, that was it.

On my 08, I've changed the turbo :M
