- Gary_GadgetExplorerMy idea is easily for the Lance factory to include on truck campers. An extension for the sewer hose to connect to. Every time I had to dump my holding tanks, I was embarrassed having to get on my knees to reach under the camper to connect the sewer hose. Most other campers have a sewer connector at an easily accessible point at the side of the camper. My fix was to purchase three items, all after market to extend the sewer connection to the side of my 1181. A 90 degree elbow, a slider valve and a short sewer extension long enough to reach the edge of the camper. All clear plastic, to see what was happening as I dumped. Clear water, clean; dirty water keep flushing and no drip with fluids still in pipe after closing tank valve. This unit is held in place with a bracket that use two of the top bolts on the valve and has a 90 degree bend for bolting to the storage compartment above.
After 1312 viewers of this thread, I hope is a Lance factory person sees this. My dealer has suggested this idea to them with photos, but; nothing has happened. I too love my Lance, on my third one. - hotrodfordsExplorer

So if a Truck Camper is restricted to being 8 feet wide and if you put a tube in to take valuable storage space. Then set it at an angle to gain more room to this tube space. Then you want Lance to include space for even longer hose storage? Most people that wish to have more hose length, usually attach their own waste hose storage pipe/post somewhere on their truck or camper. Then post it on this forum as something they did (DIY). Personally I have never needed a longer hose, as mine has always reached whatever I needed to put it into. :B Maybe you have a shorter hose?;)SugarHillCTD wrote:

Dear Lance Camper...
...10' of waste tank hose is/was pathetically inadequate...
Uh, doesn't that come from the dealer, not Lance.
Ok Lance dealer/representative, let me re-phrase: "The waste hose compartment on the some Lance models will only hold a 10'hose, which is woefully inadequate".
No assist from the manufacturer needed.

Wow. This is new territory for me in a forum. You see, everywhere else on the planet, if someone starts a post with "Dear (insert manufacturer here)" it usually means "place ideas here you wish the manufacturer would adopt".
Obviously on this forum, what it really means is "crony from the manufacturer or salesman or exuberant supporter will tell you why the manufacturer is smarter than the market at large, and you should accept anything we send you way best way to get r done."
b - I've accomplished the mod you suggest, long ago (see my photo in the Photo Thread sticky on page 1). Wouldn't it be nice to buy it from the factory that way from the beginning? Isn't that the point of this thread, what could have been done better from the factory, not what you can modify on your own?
Thank you Bedlam for shining the light on the fact a camper CAN be manufactured with more hose room.
As for Lance Campers, I love 'em; I own one and wouldn't trade it. (still needed more sewer hose room).
Checking out of this thread. - BedlamModerator

30' of sewer hose fits in my stock Arctic Fox bumper. I need that length due to the trailer I have in tow and the placement of sewer traps in various campgrounds. - rider997Explorer

skipro3 had mention PWM dimmers here a link to one CLICK not really that expensive.
There are 14 lights in my camper. At $24 each to dim them, that adds up!
However, I will do it, now that I know they are available. Curse you!
I think these are identical to the ones sold on marinebeam.com (assembled in USA) and are quite a bit cheaper...

Has anyone replaced the CF tubes with LED tubes? I have two ceiling lamps with two tubes each.
I replaced all the interior lights in my camper with LEDs, for the CFs, here are the LED substitutes I used.
Just have to do a bit of minor rewiring and remove the ballast. Worked great! - palmwhitExplorer

You're supposed to use a hose??
Bahahahaha....... Yea it would be nice to have a remote in the cab of the truck for the Jacka_s who is following so close I can't see him in the side mirrors! Oooopa poopa, here's too ya! - palmwhitExplorer

I would pay more for a better mattress option upgrade from the factory.
Here's a great(IMO) replacement choice. We got a queen sized memory foam from Sam's! 8" Night Therapy Elite Gel Infused Memory Foam Prestige Mattress - Queen sized for about $300. Worth every hard earned penny!
Unlike many memory foam mattress's you don't sweat because of the infused gel within the foam.
It replace the OEM in our Lance 1181 and what a difference! It comes delivered to the door via Fedex ground, rolled up in a box and wrapped tight in a plastic bag. Takes a day or so to de-fume and fully regain full shape. Huge comfort difference!
The dimmers are a great idea. - bka0721Explorer II
