Decal repair

I own a 2009 Kodiak Svt 160. The Kodiak decals are peeling, just the lettering, not the bear. Is it possible to reglue the edges? If so, how? If not, how do I completely remove the lettering?
  • Once they start to peel there is no hope. I even tried carefully trimming the peeling edges back to where they were still solidly attached. But they just started peeling again.

Contact Dutchmen support and see if replacement decals are still available. You can also try ebay. They have some also.

You may be able to remove the decals with a heat gun and plastic scraper if they are still fairly pliable. If they are too brittle, then a 3M Eraser wheel in a good drill will remove them fairly easily.
  • For all practical purposes...NO.

The problem is there is no good way to clean the old glue off and get the new glue on. Also, the plastic has probably become brittle, so it is likely to crack and fail quickly.

Replacement is the typical response as a result.
  • Remove them. If you really want them back, hire a mobile sign shop to make and install new ones
