I used to do vinyl graphics and covering them would be the best way to extend the life of your graphics.
If they're solid cut vinyl spend the extra $$$ on a premium cast film as opposed to a calendar vinyl. If you're going with a printed graphic choose the best UV protective lamination they offer. You'll only really have these options if going through a sign shop and will be stuck with what the manufacturer offers if buying OEM.
