I will have had it 2 years the 9th of this month and have 29,000 miles on it...zero issues with DEF.....

Parents have a '14 and run the boxes from WalMart. Nearing 30k miles on it as well, 80% towing 16k+ weight.
  • The short and "KISS" answer to what DEF is comprised of...again, just basic information on composition of DEF.

    "What is DEF

    What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Definition: A specific composition of urea for application in transportation to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted into the air by diesel engines. DEF is a high purity chemical, comprised of 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid is produced to an international standard (ISO 22241). In order to meet the 2010 EPA Diesel Emission Standards to reduce the amount of NOx emitted by diesel engines, several engine manufactures employed Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) as an after-treatment technology combined with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)."

BULL CRAP!!!! Blu DEF is Blu DEF......you can purchase it in the 2.5 gallon jugs (in boxes), that you can purchase from Wally World and a whole lot of other places....

You can go to a truck stop and pump it....I've been using 'Name brand" Blu Def from a truck stop about 5 miles from my home since I purchased my truck...I will have had it 2 years the 9th of this month and have 29,000 miles on it...zero issues with DEF.....Why pay MORE for "so called" "Mopar DEF", when in reality all DEF is basically the same thing....just different "brand names"....

The cheapest you can get it, if you have one close by is to purchase at the pump..again, I've been using same truck stop with every re-fill of DEF since I purchased my truck...last time at $2.599 a gallon.....

bottom line, NO, you don't have to purchase DEF from the dealership at some outrageous price, when you can get the same thing off the shelf at Auto stores, Wally World etc...or purchase from the pump (which is the cheapest way to pay for it)>

Your dealership fed you a line of BUNK!!!
