I paid about that for my kit. Sounds about right!

As for Chinese Knockoffs------anything's possible.

Alot of times manufactures sell for a high price partly because you're going to buy one and be done, a retailer will buy several at a time and do repeat business. also, they don't want to mess with a bunch of customer service issues, ie, which one do I order, opps, I ordered the wrong size and want to return it, if you really want to buy it they will sell retail, but for a manufacturer, selling onies is often more hassle than its worth.

Talked to a customer service rep and was told that it ships directly from the manufacturer. A bit of reassurance in that fact I suppose.

I bought my kit from eTrailer. They matched Nicks Trucks price, and I got it for about $160, shipped.
