I owned a toy hauler before my truck campers. You can get much larger capacity tanks and more room in a toy hauler than any truck camper - I had two 75-gallon fresh tanks, 10-gallon hot water heater, two 50-gallon waste tanks, 50A service and 2-phase 5500w generator with 40-gallon fuel tank and fuel station. If you always carry toys with you or need the room, this a great setup. We were quite spoiled with ours and it took some adjustment to the limits and space of a truck camper. If your trips vary in duration and what will be taking with you, this is where the toy hauler can limit you - You will always have the "garage" and the associated length with you and forget about street parking unless you slip in early while others are still asleep.
