We have had our one and only diesel for 12 years now.
I still get a grin on my face when I have to drive it.
It is the 18th truck that I have owned. And we like it so well that we will replace it with a diesel. It is still in very good condition and we are only thinking of a new truck because we want a crew cab. We won't get rid of this one we will instead replace our car with a truck.
I agree with all of the positive opinions about the diesels.
I would never put off road diesel in a road vehicle.
Once in Kansas a friend and I were hauling hay in his Semi on our way back to Missouri and were flagged down at a road block by the IRS and they dipped the tank.
They told us if it had showed red we could have been fined for the back taxes on the amount THEY decided may have been used in the truck for as far back as they chose. It was a scary thought. They had several trucks pulled over including a pick up. That was 1995.
