I drive a 1 ton dodge dully 4x4 with a 10'8" citation camper in the back and sometime pull a car behind with this load I get 12 miles to the gallon, my friend has a gasser and we pulled the same load with his gas truck got 7.5 to 8 miles per gallon on the same roads going hunting I would still get the diesel for the power that you get cost wise its about a wash.
