I am not offended by others passing me. The idea that somehow you are the man by showing off the power. This is a misconception also to think the guy left behind is the looser. I pride myself on how well I enjoy my time with fast and furious being the last thing on my mind.
Consequently, I get over 14 miles to the gallon with my 3400 lb camper. This usually at 5 over the speed limit anywhere I drive. Back roads no traffic.... 5 under.
I have two diesel trucks in which I know the older 400 some odd thousand miles I put on it paid for the other newer $35,000 truck.
Maintenance is cheaper on a diesel without the DPF.
No one who owns a TC would put so few miles on a diesel truck each year.
Better to start off counting at least 12-15 thousand miles every year.
Then add in what it costs to keep a gasser running for 400 k miles compared to an oil fired engine from Cummins.
Not talking off road prices either. Getting a big fine for using off road is not worth it... plus the pain it causes on your conscience.
