Every fuel station selling off-road diesel that I've ever pulled into also sells highway diesel.
You missed my point completely. Farms and logging companies buy in bulk, have their own storage or use service trucks. That doesn't require a service station of any kind. My in-laws even have their farm's Freightliner filled with on-road diesel by a farm supply store fuel truck. So having farms around doesn't translate to "available" diesel for highway travelers.
On again though, I am not at all saying diesel is hard to find. Based upon most of the responses to this thread I'd say it's a non-issue.
