I know the previous owner, and they did very little maintenance and never had any issues with it.
I don't think I would be interested in any of the diesels from about 2010 and newer, Dodge, Ford or GM.

I hear ya. Had a 12 valve, 1999 24 valve and then the 7.3 powerstroke.
My 6.7 just turned 90k and I put a water pump on it (common for the mileage) and no issues either. I'd be Leary of the newer ones too out of warranty...but m young enough that I'll own one someday. :(
