Here is some good reading for you. This will tell you how they ranked.

Old (SVG was reformulated 2010) and commissioned by Amsoil so it is biased. Amsoil itself has said the study is outdated and has removed the link from its site. DGMR I think SVG is a great lube and would use it with no issues, but there are many, many great gear oils on the market.

Right now I am using LE 1605, but when I am out who knows.

Yes the study was from 2006. And yes, RP sucked back then. Have they changed the formula and are now good? I have no idea.

I do know this. If they released a product that sucked (proven by ASE tests)back then, chances are to me it still sucks now.

As far is tests sponsored by AO. Yes, but so what? If I owned a company and knew I had a way better product than anybody else I would do the samething. And have an indepedant lab do the tests; just like AO did.

These tests were done by an ASE certified lab. Their @$$ is on the line if ANYBODY finds out if any funny business was going on with the tests.

Seriously, if you own a company and you heard that some company did a test and that showed your product sucked, but you though the test was bogus, don't you think you would be in court to win a million dollar slander suit? I know I would be.

Why didn't this happen? Because the test was real and legit that's why.
