Anyway, fact is most EVs are charged overnight when demand for electricity is low. Chargers already exist that can be set to only charge when other demand is low. Evs already exist that can return power to the grid. This is an evolving, progressing situation and not the nyah, nyah deal breaker you make it out to be. Maybe you'd like to suggest some other path to our transportation future?
You should have quit while you were behind.
Really? Do you seriously think that having 10 or thousands of electric RV's charging during the day is going to help the grid when they are already having rolling blackouts? Seriously? What about the 10's of millions of cars that need charging during the day. You know, the ones that live in the city where they have to charge at a charging station during THE DAY.
Lets take the Lighting pulling a trailer for example. You get rolling at 8 in the morning with a full charge. You drive your 80 to 90 miles after an hour and a half have to pull over to "fuel up." This will take almost an hour to get 3/4 of a charge.
It's now 10:30 and off you go. You drive another 50 miles and have to fill up because you left with 3/4 or a charge. You fill up and when you leave it's now 12:30....
You keep on doing this for 300 miles at 50 miles at a time. Sounds relaxing to me on my vacation! By the way, 10's of thousands of RV'ers are doing the same thing you are so you're going to have to wait many hours at a time to get in line. And all of these RV'ers are doing this during the day most likely during the summer when grid demand is high. Now that's going to help the grid when we are already having blackouts in California!! :R
You finally roll into your camping space at 10 at night and set up. After dinner you have to go to bed because it's now midnight and you're up at 8 and this drudge starts all over again. What fun!!!
Oops, forgot. You also have to compete with the "Semi's" that are sucking from the taxed grid. Oh ****......more rolling blackouts like we are having RIGHT NOW in California!
Right on!!! Lets tax the grid some more!! Kind of like spending our way to prosperity!! :S
