The theft of your batteries was merely a theft of convenience so your solution to prevent this from happening again is appropriate despite what the naysayers may claim. This past spring I replaced my aging flooded G27 with a new G31 AGM which I mounted in the front pass through cargo storage compartment instead of the trailer tongue. Coincidentally we also decided to store our trailer this season not at home but a local conservation area so I guess having the battery "out of sight, out of mind" is also a deterrent as well. really wants something they're going to get it, no matter what, but most aren't serious, they're "convenience" thefts and if it takes any effort at all the thief will move on to something easier. Nothing wrong with your solution. :B
