I belong to the "easier to wash diesel off my hands than gas" crowd. We keep a rag by the front door and I wipe off the bottom of my shoes on the way in. Wash my hands, check my hair and makeup and we are on the way. :) In regular gas stations the diesel lane is no dirtier. I put about 4 gallons of diesel, twice per month in my smart car, (I only drive 500 miles per month max) and usually the diesel pump is on an island with the gas pump so its no dirtier or cleaner. My next vehicle will have a plug, not an exhaust pipe so I'll plug it in at home. :)
