Yeah, I need to find a DOT scale to weight the truck and weigh it again with the trailer and all occupants. I do have a feeling it will be well over the payload capacity. We'll see.
I would suggest a CAT scale at the nearest truck stop. The DOT boys will usually give someone in a non-commercial vehicle some dirty looks if you pull in there (unless you know someone, of course). In some places, the state weigh stations leave the scales on when they're closed. If you can see the read-out through the windows, you can just add your own weight back in.
