Do I need a WDH with a 25ft TT

Towing 28.5' 7500 lb TT with 2004 Ram Diesel, have a WDH, and we put the anti-sway piece on every trip, but never use the WDH bars. Never any problem.

We just got a 8K 22.5 foot bumper pull after towing 5th wheels for years. Hitch is Pro Series with sway controller. Dropping two links I still have 300 pounds removed from the RAM 3500 4x4 Diesel trucks 5200 lb front axle. Hitch is has the extended drop insert for the high truck, which also sticks back quite a ways. The tail gate if the truck is straight with the trailer just clears the tongue jack when down. To drop a third link I would have to really raise the back of the truck and tongue with the jack, so I am staying at the two link drop.

Remember also as the equalizer bars transfer weight from the truck rear axle to the trucks front axle, some of the weight also goes to the trailers axles.

Well it turns out that the dealer has several used WDH and will install one that I pick. So assuming they aren't all some mystery brand. I told him: Curt, Equalizer, Blue Ox or maybe Reese.

Depends on the distance I'm going. If I'm going 10 miles down the road to my local State Park, no I don't use wdh. If I'm going up to 2 hours one way with some Interstate driving involved, yes I use wdh and a sway bar. On the short trip to the state park, there is a definite difference without wdh. More trailer movement, and more slop. I use an adapter sleeve to adapt down to 2 inch so that's where some of the slop comes from. With wdh installed, there is little to no slop

It would be like chicken soup, it would not hurt anything.

If you are within the vehicle's non-WD hitch rating, you are the one that determines if the ride is satisfactory.

They = RVT a seller that one of the posters above mentioned. Installing that ball apparently requires a 3/4 drive thin wall socket and torque wrench and so RVT will install it before shipping so you don't have to buy or find the tools locally.

Doubt it - standard size for your trailer would be 2 5/16". ;)

Well I think my plan is now to drive it 60 miles home just using the ball on the truck, then get a WDH installed
