Without it, your lights and brakes will still work just fine. If your camper can sit in the driveway without draining the battery for a few hours while not connected to a power source, it can do the same while on the road.
No, I read it just fine. The OP edited his post to be more specific to just powering the charge line. You're just late to the party and short on facts!
