GM 3500 drw also have a 10500 lb rawr for more load carrying capacity. 2020 GMs had the 14000 gvwr numbers so its not new.
GM has a good presence in the grocery getter/rv market. Their looking for more commercial vehicle sales from Ram/Ford one ton drw vehicles..... with those higher 10500 rawr numbers.
I've seen scale tickets on a couple of haulers webs showing 7200-7400 lbs rawr payloads on the '20 and up GM models. Those are WT models/2wd/dmax/std or double cab/long beds.
I just ran GMs weight calculator on a 3500 drw double cab/long bed/dmax/2wd LT. It shows a 7232 lb rear axle payload.
