Do you ever hear about used awnings for sale

Some very close friends of ours took their newly purchased but very used TT (a 1998 model) out this past weekend for the first time and everything went well except they discovered the awning had apparently been put away wet and had succumbed to mold and rot. It literally fell apart on them. (They bought it from a private party and obviously didn't check it out before hand. Lesson learned.) I can't imagine that used awnings are easy to find but I thought I would ask anyway. The unit they bought is of such an age that I don't believe they would ever purchase a new one. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Some freight lines (AAA Cooper in this area) often have slightly damaged awnings in their warehouse that was refused by the customer and in most cases the manufacturer does not want them back. Worth a few calls to some lines in your area to see if they have any.
