If DW and I are camping alone, and no foul weather is forecast, we will hang our lights that are gold handbell-shaped with little holes in them. Don't remember where we found them. It creates a nice ambiance. DW and I are always at odds with campsite lighting. She wants everything lit up, as she doesn't see well at night. I want just enough light to not trip over anything.
When DS is with us and he is in bed asleep, and we go out to enjoy the campfire, I don't want any campsite light at all. DW wants at a minimum our porch light on, and she even likes the Coleman lantern fired up on high! I usually compromise with the porch light.
