When we hit the road GF was so excited about getting awning lights so we shopped around until she find just the right ones to go with our motif/lifestyle/adventure.
I spent couple hours hanging the lights, running wiring getting it just right......looked gooooooood!
Then storm blew in, wind picked up and I ripped the lights down just in time to get awning retracted and saved for damage.
That was the end of awning lights!!!!!!!!!
Put a 'blue blub' in porch light and called it gooooooood after that :B
X2! after a few times of rushing to get the lights down when a storm rolls in and one time when one blew up in the middle of he night (3 a.m. trying to get lights down and awning in in heavy wind!), I do not hang lights anymore. I am considering the stick on LED light strip that attaches to the bottom of the gutter/awning track. thinking of the one that you can change the colors on.
I do have rope lights under the camper attached to the frame. gives off a nice glow without seeing the actual rope lights and they are on a timer. We never have a problem seeing the stars either!
