We use ours some of the time. Usually depends on how long we are staying.
TIP: I have a Carefree awning. There is a large bolt that holds the motor and roller to the arms. I removed the bolt and replaced with a eye bold. Now I can roll the awning in and not have to remove the lights to do so.
