I have this LED strip light set on my awning. I can control when, what color, and how bright the light is for decoration or to light up the campsite.
Yes. thanks from me too! Those are what I am looking for. are they good quality? the price is right, but I remember those being over $100! I may have to ask for those for Christmas!
The state 12v but show a 110 plug. Anybody know how to wire em up to 12v DC for dry camping?
I glued the strip to the awning roller tube which rolls right up with the awning. I have to connect/disconnect the wires though. Others have mounted under the awning on the side of the TT which can be more permanently wired, like micpib1 showed above.
My awning was about 1' shorter than the light strip. There are marks showing where you can cut the strip. I then resealed the end with glue/epoxy.
The set I linked includes a 110V AC to 12V DC adapter which I do not use on the TT. The set includes the control box which takes 12V DC input. So I ran two wires for 12V/ground to my batteries along with a 10A blade style fuse. So I do have to run the wires each campsite setup/take down, but I use alligator clips to attache to battery terminals so it's pretty quick. There are lots of similar ideas with more robust wiring solutions. I had thought about using my existing power awning wiring with another switch inside as one doesn't need to have he lights on along with the motor.
