In the grand scheme of hooking things up to the truck (5th wheel, travel trailer, boat trailer, etc) the truck camper takes the most focus and skill. We do take it off if we are staying more than a day.
TC can be considered cargo for insurance and home owners association purposes. For everything else it is generally considered a RV except at some resorts who don't allow them.
