My new (2014) Lance 865 doesn't have a slider, it has a removable window. I'm not really sure of the purpose of the removable window because it is not centered and doesn't really line up with the sliding rear window of my truck. There is no screen so I couldn't open it for fresh air if I wanted to, too many insects in my part of the US. The window does serve a purpose however, the door has the safety view window (option) that gives me a view of a small area behind the camper in the rear view mirror on the windshield of the truck. The safety view window is convex glass.
