According to my coworker that went from an 08 GM 2500hd 6.0 to the newer 6.4 dodge there really hasn't been much difference. This is what I have been told. He just likes the ride of the ram better. Pulling he says it's basically the same? So I have not driven the new 6.4, so I have no self comparison yet. Both rears are similar as far as I know, gm had 3.73 and I think he said the dodge got the same or 3.92. Regardless it's the 6.4 2500 series. Nice truck, much improved rear seat room. the only thing that he didn't like was the long second gear runs? whereas the GM stayed in higher gears while towing.
