If buying new (or used 2014+), you really need to test the ride of the rear coil suspension 2500. I'm amazed that this thing is a 3/4 ton, its very smooth riding empty.
I'm sure that the GM 6.0, Ford 6.2 and Ram 5.7 and 6.4 are all competent engines. If you are in the market for a gas engine, all the options will work fine and get you where you need to go. Gas mileage towing will be about the same. Unloaded mileage will be pretty close. It comes down to brand preference and ride quality. I don't have brand preference, so I went with the best riding 3/4 ton.
